| DESCRIPTION | |
| Delaware Run was too westerly to be in town, too easterly to remain farmland, and too steep/wet to simply become another housing subdivision. It was the ideal site for Willow Brook to continue its mission of providing shelter for residents in their final phases of life. Rural character was essential to retaining regional vernacular despite bustling growth encircling the community. Integration of independent housing with natural landscape, while maintaining characteristics of the drainageways, was an important goal in the design. 52 twin single homes, 87 independent apartments, 76 healthcare units, the Commons and The Water’s Edge Restaurant comprise the key elements of the overall community when totally completed. | |
| Construction started in May 2006 for the site development infrastructure and 52 twin single homes, which were built out all at once. Walk-out basements and deepened crawls with decks complimented the variety of ranch units while resolving the sloping grade in the most natural way possible. Pre-sold residents chose from a variety of floor plans and numerous options including sunrooms and swing garages. Customizing allowed some residents distinction and variety, leading to every home being unique. | |
